Offer of services and cooperation TTO for companies

Clinical research

(Industry - Sponsored clinical research)

Main activity TTO in the field of clinical contract research in NIMH CZ is the search, establishment and maintenance of contacts, subsequently the development of cooperation with the application sphere, i.e. with pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations (CROs), not only in the field of clinical but also preclinical psychopharmacology.

We develop cooperation mainly in the field of clinical testing of new medicinal products, new forms of drugs or indications for administration. From diagnostic areas, we have experience with clinical trials for the following diagnoses: psychotic disorders (schizophrenia), mood disorders (depressive disorder, bipolar affective disorder), sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, dementia.

We can also carry out clinical trials in healthy volunteers (Phase i, II and III of the clinical trial). All studies must be approved by our local ethics committee to ensure maximum protection for enrolled patients/healthy volunteers.

We have a team of experienced doctors and nurses, clinical psychologists and neuropsychologists. We are equipped with above-standard facilities for the purpose of clinical evaluation, including the possibility of using modern electrophysiological, neuroimaging and other examination methods (e.g. MR of the brain, EEG, QEEG, lumbar puncture, polysomnography, actigraphy).

Clinic NIMH CZ – before 2015: Psychiatric Centre Prague – is a reference workplace that implements current scientific knowledge and evidence-based procedures. Clinical Center NIMH CZ is a single-branch psychiatric hospital, but also offers contracted medical and diagnostic care in other fields – neurology, geriatrics, sleep medicine, clinical psychology. The basic inpatient pool – 55 psychiatric beds in 3 departments: for anxiety disorders, affective disorders, psychotic disorders – is supplemented by beds in the Department of Sleep Medicine, which are used for specialized polysomnographic examinations.

In cooperation with the Group of Experimental Neurobiology in NIMH CZ, which is equipped with modern laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment, we can also carry out preclinical assessments in the field of psychopharmacology. The laboratories are equipped with research instruments for cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, neuropsychological and pharmacological research and behavioral studies.

As part of clinical contract research, we are able to design and implement "turnkey studies" according to the requirements of the sponsor. We are able to develop the design and methodology of clinical and preclinical evaluations.

  • The Safety and Efficacy of Psilocybin in Patients with Treatment-Resistant Depression.

Preclinical research

We focus primarily on cooperation with technology companies, manufacturers of diagnostic equipment and smaller pharmaceutical companies that do not have enough of their own research capacities or offer specific tests.

We offer design of studies, their execution, implementation, or even assistance with publishing and industrial-legal protection of results

We have a wide range of research and laboratory equipment

Commercialization of results

The commercialization strategy focuses on two forms:

  • for joint projects, the commercial partner is in charge of commercialization
  • for own projects: strategy of establishing so-called own (employee) spin-offs associated with licensing.

Public sector

We cooperate with universities and their institutes, faculty and large hospitals, institutes of the Academy of Sciences, state regulators and government institutions, ministries and other subjects of public administration and self-government.
