Technology Transfer Centre NIMH CZ
was established in 2017 in the newly built National Institute of Mental Health. Its main objective is to accelerate the transfer of knowledge and R&D results arising in NIMH CZ to the application sphere. This is done, for example, by ensuring appropriate protection of intellectual property, choosing a suitable business strategy – selling patent licenses or establishing a spin-off company. Technology Transfer Centre NIMH CZ in this area, it provides researchers with expert legal and commercialization assistance, e.g. finding a suitable investor or business partner interested in a technology license, negotiating license terms, etc.
Technology Transfer Centre NIMH CZ also actively takes care of the protection of new knowledge and solutions through the formal protection of research and development results. Typically, this is done in the form of patents, utility models or secret know-how. In this area, it provides both administrative and legal support and also performs patent searches.
The Technology Transfer Centre is also a contact point for companies looking for a research partner and want to carry out contract research. It then helps researchers to draw up and negotiate appropriate terms and conditions for contract research with commercial partners. Due to the extensive network of contacts, the Technology Transfer Center can NIMH CZ also to help researchers mediate cooperation with specific companies for which the given area of research is of interest.
Technology Transfer Centre NIMH CZ is also concerned with securing funding for collaborative research.
